How to Use TABIT 3-Inch Chlorine Tablets

Starting Dosage
Start with one 3-inch tablet per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
Check the tablets every 5–7 days and replenish as needed. Adjust the dispenser based on water-test results, weather and pool use to maintain 1–4 ppm free available chlorine. Always follow the complete product label.

Application Methods

• Floating Dispenser (Recommended): Place tablets in a compatible floating chlorine dispenser and adjust the openings as directed.
• Automatic Chlorinator: Load tablets into a compatible automatic chlorinator and adjust the feed rate according to the equipment instructions.
• Skimmer Basket: Use only if explicitly permitted by both the product label and equipment instructions. Make sure the basket is clean and free of residue from other water-treatment products, and keep the pump running as directed. Never place tablets in the pump strainer basket.

Directions
1. Test the pool water before use and check free available chlorine and pH.
2. Based on pool volume and the starting dosage above, add the tablets to an approved, compatible dispenser.
3. Run the circulation system to distribute chlorine throughout the pool.
4. Retest the water after application, then adjust the dispenser or replenish tablets as needed.

Important Use Precautions

• Never place tablets directly in the pool or allow them to contact pool surfaces, liners or equipment.
• Never mix with other chlorinating products or pool chemicals. Do not use in any dispenser that contains residue from another product.
• Avoid skin contact and wash hands thoroughly after handling. Always follow the complete product label.
• Stabilized trichlor tablets add cyanuric acid (CYA). Test CYA regularly and follow the product label and local requirements.

• Stabilized trichlor tablets add cyanuric acid (CYA). Test CYA regularly and follow the product label and local requirements.

1. What free chlorine level should I maintain?
Test the water regularly and adjust the dispenser as needed. Use 1–4 ppm as a general reference, but always follow the product label and local requirements.

2. How many tablets should I use?
Start with one 3-inch tablet per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Check every 5–7 days and replenish as needed. Water conditions, weather, pool use and dispenser settings can all affect demand. See How to Use and the complete product label.

3. Can I place the tablets directly in the pool?
No. Direct contact may damage pool surfaces, liners or equipment. Use one of the compatible application methods listed under How to Use and follow the complete product label.

4. How long does a 3-inch tablet typically last?
A tablet typically lasts about 5–7 days, depending on water temperature, circulation, dispenser settings and pool conditions. Use water-test results—not time alone—to determine when to replenish.

5. Do chlorine tablets affect pH?
Yes. Trichlor tablets are acidic and may gradually lower pH. Test the water regularly and maintain a balanced pH—generally 7.2–7.8—unless the product label or local guidance specifies otherwise.

6. Why are my tablets dissolving too quickly or too slowly?
Water temperature, circulation and dispenser settings all affect dissolve rate. Warmer water, stronger flow and wider openings usually speed it up; cooler water, limited circulation and smaller openings slow it down. Adjust the dispenser based on water-test results rather than making large changes to the number of tablets.
